Western sector energy efficiency projects for hospitals

1,200 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions to be saved annually

Funding: $325,000

Blue Mountains Hospital

The Sydney West Area Health Service is installing micro-cogeneration units at the Blue Mountains Hospital in Katoomba, which will provide electricity, hot water, domestic hot water and steam more energy-efficiently.

The project also involves lighting upgrades in Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Springwood, Portland and Westmead Hospitals, which will save 13,080 megawatt hours of electricity and more than 11,635 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions in the first ten years.
