NABERS is a rating system for existing buildings. NABERS rates a building based on its impact on the environment, and lets you know how your building compares with others.

NABERS Home has developed two free online tools - the Rating Tool and Energy Explorer Tool.

Using these tools, you can find out your home's energy and water rating, where your home uses the most energy and the most effective ways to cut your power bills.

NABERS Home is part of the broader NABERS initiative managed by the Office of Environment and Heritage.

NABERS is used not just for households, but also for commercial offices, shopping centres and hotels – with more building tools in development!

With the NABERS Home Rating Tool, you can find out your home's energy and water performance with a rating out of 5 stars.

A 5 star rating represents a highly efficient home, 2.5 stars an average home, and 1 star a poorly performing home with lots of opportunities to save. All you need is 12 months of billing data and 5 minutes of your time.
